Our
Story
Little Sunbeams was established over 20 years ago through the vision of the Papakura Community Trust, who saw an opportunity to serve and connect with the local community through early childhood education.
What began as a small centre with fewer than 10 children has grown into a thriving learning community. Over the years, we have been privileged to walk alongside many children and whānau, building lasting relationships and strong connections within our community, local organisations, schools, and families.
As a community-based centre, people have always been at the heart of what we do. We are passionate about creating a place where children feel loved, valued, and supported to reach their full potential.
Our Christian faith underpins our work, and we seek to share the love of Jesus through our words, actions, and relationships. Through everyday experiences, we aim to nurture kindness, compassion, respect, and a sense of belonging, while gently sharing the message of God's love with the children and families we serve.
Today, as we celebrate more than 20 years of Little Sunbeams, we continue to be guided by the same vision- to serve our community, build meaningful relationships, and make a positive difference in the lives of children and their whā
nau.
